Career

She release her first single “You put a move on my heart” in 1995, a cover of the 1993 song by a famous British singer Mica Paris and the single was release on December 2, 1995 and was produced by Quincy Jones, the single became a hit and charted at number 98 on the billboard hot 100 and was Tamia first top 40 hit on the R&B chart peaking number 12.

Tamia release another single titled “Slow jams” which was co written by American singer and songwriter Kenneth “Baby face” Edmonds , the single appeared at number 68 on the billboard hot 100 and 19 on the R&B charts.

Tamia collaborated with Gladys Knight, Brandy and Chaka khan for the single “Missing you” and the song was released in August and peaked at top 40 R&B hit overall. Tamia receive three Grammy award nominations in the late 1996.
